star trek is somehow even more reddit-esque than disney's star wars, also it's way less relevant

Star Trek was a huge fan to the flames of early internet discussion, and since I don’t really care for neither beyond that fact, I’ll just say Star Trek won.
Because Star Trek is more philosophical, while Star Wars is more akin to a fairy tale, George Lucas's lasting message was 'hope' above all else.

But obviously Laserblast won

Both got fucked in the end. There isn't a single star trek show going on right now, that's the first time that has happened and it's because nobody watched the noob show they tried to make last time.

I've never watched either one of them, but I like that Star Trek tried to have more in-depth boring technical lore. Hospital/resupply ships for example. The Borg cube is cool too. It feels like they actually tried to have an intricate fictional universe - more in line with "science fiction" than what Star Wars has always done with flashy battles and SNCA reddit backstories.
